HFHOPPER
With great sadness, Riley lost his fight
with colic on December 1, 2009. RIP Riley
I am Heather aka hfhopper and I bought Riley (JC Name Fab Do
) Nov. of 2003. I found him on CANTER Ohio on the trainer listings.
He ran for 3 years in California with 26 starts, 1Win, 7 places,
4 shows, and had career earnings of $42,025.00. The trainer
had already sold him to a broker in southern Ind. by the time
I got in contact with him. She had him on Dreamhorse.com and
I contacted her there. She sent me pics and I decided to go
see him in person and thought he was a real diamond in the rough.
He was in bad shape when I found him, and brought him home within
a week of seeing him. Life changed as I knew it with Riley in
it.
He had surgery on his stifles the week before Christmas and
we spent 3 months getting to know each other very well through
his rehab. My trainer couldn't wait until I had him under saddle
and she was not disappointed in what she saw. He is one of the
most difficult but rewarding rides I have ever known, and extremely
intelligent. He is a natural for his second career in dressage.
He will jump anything he is pointed at too. What a nice bonus.
He is my once-in-a-lifetime horse.
Our purpose is to promote awareness of retraining
Exracers
into new careers after their racing days are over.
Most of the action takes place in our forums,
where we discuss training tips and questions, as well as
non-exracer topics. You don't have to own an exracer to join
in the discussion. Anyone is welcome!
Be sure to check out our Exracers map
to see if we have an Exracer member near you. And pop into the
virtual Stable,
to read some of our Exracer success stories.
